The art of writing exists, and has always existed, so that we can tell our stories.

The words one uses are important, of course, but the story - the story is the marrow.   The thing that stays with you, digesting in the back of your mind until it becomes a part of you.   Until it is almost your own.

Good stories keep you awake.   They manifest specters of yourself in the heroes and the villains both, the scenery and the time.   They haunt like jilted lovers and seduce like new lovers.   All in a single breath.   Or a few words.

I am a storyteller.

I am a weaver of interpretive truth and imaginative lies.   I rule realities greater and lesser than I live.   Allow me to trap time for you; win love for you; conquer death for you.   Fall under a spell of words so careful you forget they are there.

Please sit, just a little bit closer.

There.   Now, let me tell you...

a story.
